Computer Repair & Maintenance
This program is designed to prepare people to establish their own business or to work for a business in the Personal Computer (PC) repair field. The program provides training in the technical field of PC repair and maintenance, sufficient for program completers to sit for the CompTIA A+ Certification Examinations in hardware and software. Related competencies are developed in areas such as networking, operating systems, accounting, small business management, and customer service, which will enable graduates of the program to work on their own or for others.

There is a growing need for trained specialists in this field. According to the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Handbook:
“Employment of computer support specialists is expected to increase faster than the average for all occupations through 2014, as organizations continue to adopt increasingly sophisticated technology and integrate it into their systems. Job growth will continue to be driven by the ongoing expansion of the computer system design and related services industry, which is projected to remain one of the fastest-growing industries in the U.S. economy. Job growth among computer support specialists reflects the rapid pace of improved technology. As computers and software become more complex, support specialists will be needed to provide technical assistance to customers and other users. New mobile technologies, such as wireless Internet, will continue to create a demand for these workers to familiarize and educate computer users. Consulting opportunities for computer support specialists also should continue to grow as businesses increasingly need help managing, upgrading, and customizing ever more complex computer systems.”
Admissions Requirements:
• Submit an application form to the Admissions Office.
• Submit official High School or GED transcript and official College transcripts.
• Complete Required College Placement Tests in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.
